Defying All Odds

Dad went in to visit with the oncologist on Monday. The meeting went quite well!

One of his numbers for his blood labs was on the low end, but other than that there was nothing to complain about.

He made sure to specifically ask the doc what her opinion is on his prospective chances. She said she thinks we are looking at 2 to 5 years, and that she would not be surprised if he is here 4 to 5 years from now.

This is a huge change from 14 months ago when she gave him one, maybe 2 years to live.

Done with Chemo… for now
This appointment marked the end of his 6 rounds of high dose chemo.

For now there are no plans to go back on chemo, but it is not uncommon to go back on chemo after being off for 6+ months.

FYI, he is completely done with radiation, that was a one-time deal in May 2014.

What’s Next?
Dad has his next MRI on August 10th. He will follow that up the next couple days with the neurologist and the oncologist.

In the meantime…
Still taking the Protocel 4x a day, every day. Outside of that, getting back into working, enjoying life, and not thinking about cancer!
